Stainless Marine has been manufacturing top quality marine products in South Florida for over 27 years. Starting with a single work bay in Opa Locka, Fl., our founder, Jerry Schmid, worked evenings after his shift at Eastern Airlines to make a small line of stainless steel products. As demand for quality products grew, Jerry finally quit his machinist job at Eastern and devoted full time to Stainless Marine. Expanding work bay by work bay, Stainless Marine now owns and operates the entire building shown above.
Aluminum and high tech plastic have joined stainless steel as the material of choice for many of the Stainless Marine products. Numerically controlled machining centers have made the milling machine obsolete. The same fate has befallen the lathe, grinder, plasma arc metal cutter, shear, brake and several other ‘classic’ machine shop tools. Autocad has made the drafting table a place to store office supplies. With a million dollar plus investment in modern tools, Stainless Marine is able to offer marine exhaust manifolds, outboard transom brackets, crossover cooling systems, indicators and a couple of dozen other categories of marine parts built to a standard never before achievable.
All Stainless Marine management personnel and most shop leaders have been with the company for more than 10 years, with many over 15. Our new product guy, Allan “Brownie” Brown has been with us for 11 years, and has been in the marine business for an incredible 54 years. His experience as technical chief of such companies as Cigarette, Donzi, Magnum, Cougar, Cary, Nova, Alpha Z and several others gives us a technical edge on every other company in our business. His technical expertise is available to you under the header topic “Ask Brownie”. He has offered to field your questions in related boat areas, such as performance predictions, etc. |
